Where There is Snow There Is Hope!

So, we woke up this morning to a very light covering of snow. Considering where we live, snow has been surprisingly absent so far this winter and whilst this wasn’t enough to get the sledges out, it did still cause excitement amongst the offspring.

Sensing enthusiasm for a jaunt outdoors (not often the case!), I seized the moment to suggest (insist on) a family walk. And you know what, for at least an hour, happiness and peace ruled. Something about the bitingly cold fresh air, a slight crunch of snow underfoot and unrelenting glare from the mid-morning sun managed to put paid to moaning from even the grumpiest of lockdown teens and tweenagers.

It’s hard not to get bogged down in the daily frustrations and limitations that dominate lockdown life but today, for a short while, we felt like we were on top of the world.
