Today has been one of those days when I’ve been feeling a little flat. I have no reason to feel especially out of sorts today… the challenges we are facing today are pretty much identical to those we faced yesterday. But, for whatever reason, today has felt more than a tad tedious.
And then, out of the blue, there was a lovely, random act of kindness from an elderly neighbour and the world felt like a better place.
Since the lockdown started, we’ve been doing a spot of shopping for B and her husband, taking things to the post office and collecting her newspapers. It really hasn’t been difficult – we’re doing so little compared to our “normal” lives that any excuse to get out and about and do something useful is a real pleasure.
I took her bag of shopping over to her and she greeted me with these stunning lilacs that she’d picked from her garden for me. Honestly, I nearly cried!
